Looking for ways to grow their pipeline of start-up incubators, regional economic development business BCC with the support of local government, originally engaged us to design an identity and marketing campaign for a new competition to find people who had a great idea or invention, connect them with the BCC and generate positive conversation within the wider community.

solution

After segmenting the target audience to understand the diverse range of needs, we designed an engaging brand for the competition. We then designed marketing experiences for the life of the campaign. This included events, point of sale, direct marketing, social media, video, web, radio, press and outdoor. In parallel our creative team designed messaging to be used with each audience, and for the first two years we managed most of the campaign implementation.

For the four years of the competition to date it has exceeded the application targets, and has achieved good media coverage & dynamic conversation within the wider community about innovation. In 2013 and 2014 the geography was expanded each year to include another local government area.
